Two awesome things

First, Wikileaks. It’s about damn time. Soon, people all around the world will be able to safely expose government/police/corporate secrets and corruption. This is a step towards open government and open society. InternalMemos has been doing something a bit like this for a while, but the Wiki format makes the process a whole lot easier and more open. Hopefully, next, these things will all be public by default. The other day I noticed that the British parliament have set up a website where anyone can start a petition, which I thought was quite wonderful. Shame about the state of surveillance though. Look at the posters that are currently hanging in the London Underground.

Watchful Eyes

Second awesome thing: Everybody’s favorite pirates/political party are trying to buy the micronation of SeaLand. The asking price is an insane five hundred million pounds, but they offer free citizenship to anyone who donates. If it doesn’t work out, they also mention buying a different island and then declaring it as it’s own country, free of any bullshit copyright laws. Good luck to them! I’m donating. I just hope they don’t have any problems with rebels like Ladonia

Sealand

daShitlist is doing quite well, although there is the occasional problem with input validation. If you have trouble posting, try removing any quotes and apostraphes from your entries, although I should fix this bug in the next day or so.
